One of my first drawings from my classes from March. Plenty more
Hmmm...
Another Ghost Girl
This early-working "Ghost Girl" idea comes from a song off Ciba Matto's latest album, Hotel Valentine. The song being '10th Floor Ghost Girl'. Ill get more into that later. Though, okay! So back in November I was super into studying fashion, researching everything about it, watching interviews yada yada. I was looking at Vogue's best streetwear from Tokyo's Fashion Week. I saw this photo
and i was like goddddamm that is amazing!!! I have an incredibly unusual affinity for umbrella's these days (i think it stems from all the amazing umbrellas in Animal Crossing, i want all of them).
Anyways, so i drew a rough sketch of how i saw this image.
India ink & red pens are my favorite combination.

I just keep going and going with ink and pen, eventually adding acrylic paint into the mix for strong black & white.
I was pretty happy with how this turned out, as it started a just a little fabric study, i just wanted to draw some clothes! This was back in November when i finished this. However, just the other day i wanted to re-investigate this image, so i scanned and redrew it in photoshop. How does anyone know when a piece is finished??
Acrylic paint, ink, & graphite on paper.
Illustrated in photoshop, I need to get into the photoshop brush game.
Process
At heart, I am (& believe i always will be) a Printmaker. No matter what medium i work with, whether it be graphite or gouache, i will always build my work in layers and proofs. I may not make a single literal print, but the way i create my work, and arrive at a final piece follows the basic context of printmaking. However, because i don't actually produce a lot of "prints" lately, I find my work goes far beyond the final work i choose to present. This thought has lead to here, right now! I'm going to start showing my process of how i arrive at the final piece. In my printmaking i will often end up destroying my plate or other matrix in order to get everything I can from it, but not before creating many prints through-out that process; holding onto those i believe were a success. Now, within my illustrations and paintings, I find myself holding back for fear of knowing i will end up destroying the piece if i continue forward, with nothing to present from earlier stages. I often stop before the piece is complete. Hopefully through continued documentation, I will be able to find my art within my current work, maybe the documentation is the art!

like GET FUCKEDDD! Boom!! goddddddamn.
Now I'm watching Rear Window, after this I’ll probably watch Spirited Away!
UPDATE: i didn't watch Spirited Away, infact i watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop. It was like a trip, when it was over i sat there thinking to myself. That was a real movie.. that i just watched... ? Like is this a kids movie? The bad guys are are shooting pistols whist grinding on a skateboard. I recommend it simply for it's surreal take on Paul Blart's life....
After that, i watched Hannibal Buress: Hannibal Takes Edinburgh for the 2nd time. 7 stars! * * * * * * *
in in the middle of Eyes Wide Shut, one of my all time favorite films. By far, the lighting, themes and dialogue is mesmerizing.
And watched Ghost in the Shell again for the millionth time. Hands down fav anime all time yo!
